Minister Mhagama Calls For Potential Investments In Mbinga District To Boost Tourism

THE Minister of State is the Prime Minister's Office,(Policy and Parliamentary Coordination) Jenista Mhagama has urged the country’s businessmen to mull over the possibility of investing into state-of-the-art modern and leisure hotels in the Town of Mbinga in Ruvuma Region.


She observed that said the fast-growing Town of Mbinga has been endowed with the numerous and peculiar tourism attractions, thus investing in such Hotels would help push for the smooth metamorphosis of the tourism activities in the Town.

Minister Mhagama raised the challenge yesterday as she was gracing an event for the launching of the timely project for the erection of the One Pacific Hotel in the Mbinga District.

She sounded to have been optimistic that completion of the project for the construction of the modern-Three Star (3Star) Hotel, would play a meaningful role in stimulating tourism sector in the area.


Similarly, Minister Mhagama noted that the Head of State, Dr. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has so far demonstrated a patriotic heart of elevating the country’s tourism sector and thus, it is prudent for the home –based relevant stakeholders to support the President’s aspiration.

“The national’s tourism strategy of Royal Tour focuses to further market the Tanzania’s tourism prestigious attractions across the globe in order to bring home possible high volume of visitors from  different parts of the world, the vital economic development which will automatically heighten the country’s economic gains,” Minister Mhagama observed.


She detailed that, the District of Mbinga has a number of tourism potential including peculiar mountains and hills, water flows, as well as natural vegetation, to mention but a few.

Moreover, she said in the District, there’s historical caves at Litembo area, the caves in which records depicts that the forefathers in the areas used to shelter themselves many decades elapsed.

For his part, Dr Erasmo Nyika who was speaking on behalf of the board of the investors of the One Pacific Hotel expressed that they have been attracted to invest in the fast –growing Town of Mbinga due to the move by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to build a good and friendly working relations with the investors in the country.

“We have invested into two separate projects in Mbinga District, worth at least 4bn/-, and this is after realizing that the District has a number of investing opportunities, however we’re appreciating the good manner to which we have been receiving good support from the Office of the Mbinga District Commissioner (DC),” he expressed.


 

Speaking earlier, Eng Selemani Kinyaka in his report informed that the under construction Hotel of One Pacific comprises with 14 normal rooms, 23 high –level rooms, a small conference hall, two restaurants, a modern exercising room, swimming pool and an equipped laundry.

“So far, implementation of the project has created more that 250 employment, through which permanent employment is 30 and the remaining is casual labor.
