The Tanzania's Agriculture sector is facing a serious times, following a suddenly demise of the former Director General (DG) of the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) , Dr Geofrey Mkamilo.
The country’s high profile seed Research mogul, who led the state-owned seed research institute for several years died this morning, 2nd March, 2024 at the Dodoma-based Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH).
Among others, during his hey days at the TARI's driver seat, the late Dr Mkamilo will always remembered for his top role, as well as patriotic spirit in leading other staff and agro experts to work round the clock in a general quest to research, innovate and breeding key Improved seed kernels for the metamorphosis of the vital sector in which the country’s economic and social facets hinges on.
